Melville, NY, March 2005 –A new way to reduce the chances of getting germs from mistakenly drinking out of someone else’s water, juice or sports bottle has just hit the market. A new product, called Itz Mine! Beverage ID Tags, are individualized tags that are easily placed on the neck of favorite water, soda or sports drink bottles to identify the drink to help ensure that users do not receive bacteria and viruses by erroneously drinking out of someone else’s bottle, or from someone else accidentally drinking out of their bottle.

“In addition to washing your hands frequently, not drinking from other people’s drink containers is perhaps the best way to prevent the spread of germs from person to person,” says Toni Ann Claire, M.D. a physician from East Rockaway, New York. “Bottled drinks are breeding grounds for all types of harmful bacteria, and just a few sips of someone else’s beverage are enough to spread germs and disease.”

Taking care to identify your own beverage bottle his is especially important in situations where many people may have beverage bottles, such as the gym or fitness center, at sporting events, at meetings or in the school dorm. And it is important when more than one person stores their beverage bottles in a refrigerator, such as at the office or day care and child care centers. Itz Mine!
